Hello! This is Rebekah responding. Thank you for your thoughtful comment and question! There has been an ongoing debate on whether or not Provers 31 is about a Wife or Wisdom. I love this scripture because it reminds me of my mom. She certainly was not ”all” these things’ but she had attributes that reflected many of them. I believe if a standard exists for a ”Wife of noble character” then it is good that we have those standards in writing. However, it is also good for us to understand that a ”standard” can be a lifetime goal and not a list of requirements. We all have seasons and circumstances that vary and grace is the theme of the Bible that should be the forerunner of our ambitions bc we can only do anything and everything that is good bc of Jesus. With Him all things are possible and without Him, we are at a loss. So Grace for what we can not be and praise for what He allows us to be!

I really appreciate the practical guidance you give for listeners for steps we could take if we feel a stirring and shift coming from the Lord. It’s so helpful to hear your own stories and examples of things you’ve given up or taken on as a result of being obedient to God’s calling for a different life. I’m curious how you would interpret Proverbs 31 as it seems to set a high standard and expectation to “do it all”.
